sd2iec and language help"

  • Hi,

I tried to use google translate into English on the site, but that logs me out, so I can't post. Can anyone help?

Really after sd2iec colllection by user Nirvana, and as I can't remember German from school 40 years ago, I'm struggling a bit to get to 30 posts!

Also, as the sd2iec doesn't have true drive mode, most disks don't work because of their custom loader - should I go for an Ultimate with the TAP addon do you think? Or use an old C64, get the PI1541, a PI, and the keyboard pcb to connect the real 64 keybaord?

Sorry for all the questions, and sorry if I've posted in the wong place"

    Many thanks,

    Niallquinn.

  • I manage the downloads and uploads.

There are some restrictions in place before you can access the F64 Wolke ("F64 Cloud"), where Nirvana's collections are stored.

This is not uncommon in forums. I believe there is a waiting period of 30 days and some amount of posts before you can access the thread with the login details here: F64 Wolke Diskussion

I am not the expert with SD2IEC solutions, but yes, it does not emulate a full 1541 drive (which includes its 6502) and therefore it can have issues, especially with copy protections and multiple file/disk loading stuff.

Ultimate II+ and its variants are probably the top notch solution in the market. If you can afford it, you will not regret it.

I have two and I am happy with them.

My next move will be the Ultimate 64, once available again.

This is probably one of the best AiO solutions out there today to also have TFT screens with HDMI connected and UII functionality.

There are pi1541 solutions which are pricewise somewhere in the middle and I believe they emulate the 1541 drive quite well.

But others here in the forum may be able to guide you better on pi1541 questions.
