Just an idea, what is your ROM version you're using?

You should use the latest Mega65 ROM.
Actual version is 920364.
I think that solves your problem.
You can find a diff file on mega65.org in the ‚Software - File Host‘
Then you need the 910828 ROM from C65. The 910001 does not work.
Then you need M65Connect for your Windows/Mac OS/Linux to apply the diff file to the 910828 ROM.
(all can be found on mega65.org)!

Hi there, the screen show Basic 10.0 v0.9B.911001. It also has a yellow border. Just starting with Mega65 on Zemu. Just ordered the Mega65 last week.
The problem that you're using original C65 ROM. It does not know the hex number feature $1600 in line 250 (among many-many other things). This syntax is a MEGA65 BASIC (BASIC65) extension so you need that ROM to work.
