In my opinion, the d-pad of SNES-gamepads is much better than the d-pad from PSX controllers, but this is matter of taste.
I like SNES pad more, therefore i recommend either this
Raphnet SNES controller to Atari/Commodore Adapter

or this
64JPX Adapter (in the "Blue" or "Purple" edition)

Both were mentioned before in this thread and I have both adapters here and like them both alot. The Raphnet adapter is especially good for shooting-games with it's six switchable rapidfire-speeds, it's rapidfire-lock-feature (autofire) and fire2-function (good for some Amiga games). The 64JPX has a waddle-mode (good for jiggle-games like "Decathlon" or "Track & Fields"), which is also funny. Both adapters are really good. They have no delay and both have four different switchable buttonmappings and allows to have jumping, which is normally on "steer up", on a firebutton. And this is necessary, because playing "jump and run" where the user must run and at the same time press the upper right corner to jump, with a gamepad, works not quite good.
I read about those new "Boomerang" Amiga-gamepads in this thread and i can not understand, why they don't have "steer up" on one of it's buttons? Would make playing "jump and runs" alot easier with these. When a gamepad is used and jumping is not on a button, it's bad in many games.
