Beiträge von adtbm im Thema „MEGA65 R3 board CR1220 battery holder“

If possible, never use CR1220, they are bad. There is plenty of space in Mega65 and we all want it to be as good as possible and if possible, please change to CR2032 batteryholer.

Our hardware designer gave us some feedback and said, that the battery lasts about 2.5 years.
We can't promise anything at this point in the development of the MEGA65 R3 board anymore.

It is a good point but it would have been better, if this comment would have had come, roughly 4 weeks earlier.

So if the battery holder is not the show stopper for you (@all) The MEGA65 is for tinkering with, if you don't like the battery on board, design an adapter for a battery type/size you prefer more, document it and post it here. I might be interested  :dafuer:

(Having the MEGA65 RTC powered with an CR2032 lasting 12+ years... adding an eInk display to the case... and build a small watch...):freude
(Or include Snoopy s battery and attach a 15 inch color display):ChPeace

    Case looks amazing

Thank you !!! We love it too  !!!

About the battery holder, why have you put a CR1220 battery holder on the PCB and not a CR2032 ? CR2032 have way more capacity than those crap CR1220

i've got the battery running, in my MEGA65, now for around a year and it's still fine.
So i would say: it saves space on the mainboard and it is sufficent.
I'll check back with our hardware design member and i'll ask him.
