this specific example of 1-0.8 <> 0.2 is consistent across BASIC 2, 7, and 10.
O wow, but this is very strange, not?

Hey guys, brand new happy MEGA65 owner here. I'm writing because I'm planning to write my next novel on my MEGA65, and I'm wondering if you have any recommendations for how to go about doing that.
GEOS65?

Thank you for making this game! Unfortunately, it does not seem to work on my Batch2 (0.95) / ROM 920377 system. I get the same scrambled screen that Snoopy reported.

With the Mister2MEGA framework in principle all Mister cores can be transferred to MEGA65.
But keep an eye on the Discord channels, some people are already working on a C128 core but I cannot remember if it first is for Mister or directly for MEGA65.
We are all volunteers here, so if you can participate building a C128 core, the sooner we will have one ![]()
Which ROM version are you using? The older ROM’s had a sprite collision issue
The ability to run a program before you've programmed it would be awesome!
is already possible, watch Spaceballs: ‘Instant Cassette’; the movie on VCR before the movie has been made 😋
My suggestion is to report issues via Discord, there you will have all developers actively involved.
Loading a bitstream from internal FPGA memory (not sure how that partition is called) is much faster than loading from SD. Boot speed is roughly the same speed as a traditional hardware solution.
Everytime when you do a cold start, the FPGA needs to be programmed, that process is much faster when the core is already “available” on the FPGA.
As far as I know, the cores are stored on the FPGA memory, not on the SD card.
Only the first time, when you flash a new core from the SD to the FPGA, you store the (new) core on the SD card.
But, you can store as many cores as you like on the SD card, and flash it to one of the 7 available cores when you like to use that core.

I did buy Sam's Journey on cartridge, while not even owning a C64, but in good faith that it will play on the MEGA65. They are more expensive than floppies or download, but worth it for me personally.
I like cartridge’s, they provide me the feeling I actually own a game/software. And they look sexy on the shelf ![]()
Yes, half a year ago I remember. At that point it was not (yet) working. Best if you post your question in Discord in the #peripherals section to check the actual status.
What is the reason the cartridge option is limited to 128kB?
I like to use floppies for my own work, little programs and so on. Will probably also use the (internal) SD for that.
When it comes to purchased games, for me nothing beats a real full size cartridge.
Having said that, I fully understand the benefit of using microSD as substitute for a cartridge. The problem that I see is a microSD is soo small, and the SD slot is at the rear of the machine. Not really suitable for repeatedly inserting and swapping microSD’s.
Personally I find the cartridge size used for the Nintendo Switch already at the very limit.
But the future will tell us what option turns out to be the best one. I’m open to test all possible scenarios ![]()
Great info! But, I’m afraid it’s posted in the wrong channel. Should be in the BASIC65 section, not BASIC10, adtbm
additional note: can “BASIC (M65 Mode)” please be renamed/corrected to “BASIC 65 (M65 Mode)”?
Just as an idea, maybe use this channel to list the games that are ported to the MEGA65, Shallan is making big steps.
Those are the games that will natively play on the MEGA65 and uses part of it's improved performance over the C64.
Wow, great! Thanks adtbm !
Looks like it's now named 'BASIC' iso 'BASIC 65', but I will do no more nitpicking ![]()
adtbm , will you rename "MEGA BASIC (M65 Mode)" to "BASIC 65 (M65 Mode)" to have the forum consistent with Discord?
No prob! 👍
I think we ‘suffer’ a bit in clear distinction between 'BASIC 10 (C65 Mode)' and 'MEGA BASIC (M65 Mode)' since the enhanced BASIC 10 of BS is nowadays called 'BASIC 65'.....so what category is this, 'C65' or 'M65'?
Should be helpful if in this forum there is a dedicated section for the OpenROM to discus all non-C65 developments of the MEGA65, like the new type of BASIC.....🤔
