I find this post rather unsubstential and not helpful. "They don't work" what does that even mean? I have seen quite a lot of "supposed to be not working" MEGA65s and hence what - they all worked. Some machines were treated so badly by the postal service that the sd cards fell out or the keyboard cables came off, but other than that: all machines are tested and working fine before they get delivered. Please don't just write bad propoganda posts, those won't help anyone. I bet I can get both of those "supposed broken" machine to work within minutes. PM me if you want to take the bet

now that this is sorted out and obviously Trenz are not the culprit, you could consider editing the title of this thread?

Fighting fit again now - so back onto the Mega65 testing.

So I finally have a working Mega65. After the drama of import taxes / arguments with couriers etc.. I can finally start using my machine.

The SD card latching was repaired at Trenz - but I was unable to format an SD disk. I bought the recommended SD card, but it wouldn't work.

I then wasted weeks on buying different brands and testing them - changing dip switches and speaking to Trenz tech support.

I then decided to buy the same recommended SD card again and it worked.

So it seems it was a bad card that sent me on a wild goose chase for weeks. After having a problem with the SD card port latching and sending for repair, I assumed it had to be an internal fault. I didn't think for a second the SD card could be faulty as it was the recommended spec - and brand new. That would be really bad luck to happen to me.... but it seems it did !

So finally after months of messing about, I think I have a working machine.

Thanks to all for their input. I really could have done without all this drama... I'm looking forward to a better experience from here on in.

Es liegt unter anderem daran, dass wir eine retröse Auflösung nutzen und keinen Framebuffer haben und wollen. Wenn wir einen latenzfreien (0 frame buffer) upscaler oder positioner für die gängige 720p Auflösung, die TheC64s etc auch ausspucken, implementieren, gehen sicherlich noch mehr repektive alle Monitore. Gut beraten ist man meist mit Samsung und allem was in die TV Richtung geht. Die können dann auch reto Auflösung PAL 720x576, ab der 4k Klasse hört das jedoch auch schon wieder auf.

I also want to add that there is no regression going on here. And it is not that picky. However, lydon is asking to take this in account and do it properly so it won't unnecessarily interfere with testing. Thank you.

ja , ich will mich auch gar nicht beschweren, nur mal meinen Frust artikulieren in der Hoffnung, in Forum64-Manier abgewatscht und wieder auf die Füsse gestellt zu werden

Statement vom Team: wir liefern mehr aus. Alles was verfügbar ist. Habe selbst erst vor ein paar Tagen eine Retail-Maschine erhalten und das erste Mal die Packung "live" gesehen. Ist halt gerade überall Sch... und wir sind ganz schön geschlaucht. Die Chinesen testen jetzt auch Fische auf Covid ..

...geht halt nicht nur uns so. Die Allgemeinsituation stresst alle gehörig. Lasst es mich so sagen: Als Sammler will ich schon immer einen Spectrum Next besitzen. Ich war bisher nicht bereit, im Voraus zu bezahlen und dachte, ich werde schon irgendwann einen bekommen - wenn sich der Hype gelegt hat. Das war ein Irrtum. Wer abbestellt, fliegt aus der Queue und fängt dann wieder von vorne an. Wie bei der Telefon-Hotline. Es wäre vielleicht schlauer, seinen Slot zu verkaufen - oder sich mit der neuen Realität abzufinden. Es gibt übrigens immer noch keine PS5s im MediaMarkt. Wie lange ist die "draussen"? 2 oder 3 Jahre?
