    I sold in 2017-2018 15+ new upgraded (original cartridge ROM 32 KB only) Magic desk 128 KB (utils), 256 KB (games), 512 KB (games), 1 MB (128 KB utils+games) cartridges for 30, 33, 36, 39 €. Other sellers sold many similar products since 2018. And? I sold 1 special 1 MB cartridge, 8×128 KB Ocean games (Batman the movie, Toki, Double dragon, Navy seals, Pang, Space gun, Battle command, Robocop) for 95 USD.

    1-- 1581 empty PCB + all components in kit 90 € + 12 € shipping from Germany + 3D printed case from ebay 69 € + shipping from Italy 2,5 € + Samsung 321 or other mechanics 10 € + shipping 9,5 € = 193 € + my 5 hours soldering work 50 € + new C64+1541-II/1581 PSU 64 € + 8 € shipping = 315 €. If I buy new 1581 + PSU, then I need new complete C64, this min. 199 € + 12 € shipping (Sixtyclone), NOT included CPU, SID, VIC, PLA, CIAs, or ROMs. + from other source (ebay) USED 8500 CPU + real 8580 SID + 8565 VIC + 251715 PLA + 2×6526 CIAs + 251913 + 901225 ROMs + shipping = min. 250 €. 315 + 199 + 12 + 250 = 776 €. If I buy now a complete working C64 with 250469 rev. 3, 4, A motherboard, and I desolder these chips, then this not cheaper (C64+shipping+desoldering work+desoldering station+shipping=min. 250 €). This HAHAHEHE, because this PSU + normal 1581 + normal C64 without extra functions. This why good?

    2-- This 50× better: I bought a used (made in 2018) Ultimate 64 motherboard + shipping = 170 €, because new U64 elite motherboard available in 2022 only for 250 € + shipping + paypal fee = 270 €. U64: 1-48 MHz CPU, original 2×SID sockets (I have 2×original 8580), 1-2-3 SID player, 16 MB 1764 REU, 2×1541, 1571, 1581, HDMI+RGB+svideo outputs, 3×USB connectors + other 50+ functions. Original C64, 1541, 1571, 1581 drives are obsolete, meaningless to possess these.

    20213: Bullshit. I would use real drives, if these could be bought for a real price. I don't pay anyone profit. This not hobby already: The Commodore products under 15 years = 10× price because of the dealers. I do not buy a real 1581 drive for 500+ €, and real 1571 drive for 120+ € from dealers (ebay).

    1581 replica and real 1571+1581 drives obsolete and unnecessary.     Why expensive are the switches which can be used for the retro machines ?
    Why is it not possible to buy suitable switches in my country?
    Many switches are available cheaply, 1-3 USD/piece.


    There are 3 solutions:
    1- I am shopping expensively from foreign countries.
    2- I build in onto an other place a similar switch. MS-168, MS-500F, etc.
    3- I take out switches from other machines if a switch of mine goes
    wrong, and I build it into the machine. I did this till now, but I am
    bored with it.
    The inbuilt switch may go wrong any time.

    Thanks. I live in Europe. I am shopping only from Europe (Germany, England), not USA, not China. 1 piece switch 7 and 9 USD + shipping cost from Virginia and Texas 10-23 USD. :schreck!: Unreal. Too expensive. 1 piece tested C64 with original working switch = max. 9 USD. I may not buy a switch for the price of a working C64. 3 pieces new switch + shipping cost = max. 10 USD OK.
    Aliexpress, etc. 3 USD/piece + free shipping possible? Max. shipping time 7-10 days OK. From China 30-60 days. :schreck!:
    If these not possible, I buy a similar switch in a local shop, max. 1 USD/piece, no shipping cost.
