I have got my Nexys Board. The bitstream has been installed and everything works nice. I run an USB keyboard.
Does anybody send me an overview over the keyboard mapping? It might be helpful.
Thank you in advance.

i am checking, i thought, the keyboard mapping is in the manual.
Thank you very much. This will help
This reminds me that I urgently need to produce an FAQ for setting up and using the machine. Actually all you have to do is display virtual keyboard which is part of the MEGA65 - due to the existance of the MEGAphone
There is no super easy way to display it on the desktop computer, but easy enough if you are able to use letter and number keys. Just type in the following (you can also leave out the line numbers if you only want to execute it once):
10 POKE 53295,71:POKE 53295,83
20 POKE 54805,255:POKE 54806,255
(Line number 20 only sets the virtual keyboard to the top of the screen.)
Now you can see which keys you press through the virtual keyboard!
cheers,
deft
Thank you for the note. With the help from Yan_B I found any key I was looking for.
I have tried four different keyboard (all with USB cable). They all work fine with the Nexys board.
One thing seems curious to me:
I can't use the cursor keys in the normal way. With the normal cursor keys only the "cursor right" key works, the others are without function. And in the right numpad (numlock off) only "up", "left" and "down" work. "right" doesn't work here.
So at least I can use all four directions, but it's not very comfortable.
Is this normal with the Nexys board or do I have the luck to own 4 "crazy" keyboards?
it´s the same here - but since I won´t be needing the usb solution anymore in the foreseeable future, I don´t really care

Thanks for your feedback!
Do you have another solution for the keyboard or do you mean that the Mega65 will come soon?
you can use a c64 keyboard with the nexys board via the dm65pic - widgetboard.
I have some boards here, but still need to populate them
I have a C64 with Keyrah adapter and USB connection. Nearly all keys work fine, but only the "cursor up" and "cursor down" didn't work.
It seems that the Nexys board has some personal conflicts with cursor keys?
the keyrah seems to have severe ghosting problems with the nexys board m65, so i´d rather not use that.

Oh, I had only tested it for some keystrokes. By the way the C64 has not all keys like the Mega65/C65.
sure, but I don´t really need them, either.
Besides, once the real m65 is here, I guess I wont be using the nexys anymore
Here is my keyboard for the Nexys.
I bought a Dell KB216 WH in white color and stick these C128 keyboard stickers in white:
Most of the stickers fits very good on the keys. The "badest" one was the RESTORE sticker, which I had to cut into two line.
The cursor keys work in the same way as with the C64:
Shift + Right = Left
Shift + Down = Up
So it's not the perfect solution, but it fits my needs for using the Nexys as a C65/Mega65.
Wow, the keyboard looks nice with the Sticker solution !
Unfortunately, i can't help you much with your keyboard issue, since i am using the Widgetboard as well with c64/c65 keyboard.
But i can try tonight when i am at home, to connect a USB keyboard.

Thanks! It's okay for me with the cursors keys. It's nearly the same as with the C64.
I'm used to it after years with the C64 and it's still a liitle bit "more Commodore retro" to use Shift+right for left cursor.
I still have the problem with the restore key along my WidgetBoard. I think, I will live with it. The Joysticks are working perfect.

Maybe if Yan_B got his 7 Boards populated, you can find a deal with him.
I am almost certain now, that there is something wrong with the STM32. We have already checked everything else.
It would be nice, if we would find a company that would solder the STM32 and the optical Transceivers onto the PCB.
I will build an further board. I have got some parts left.
