Small update: I had a short time today to deal a little with the SwinSIDx8 and my crunch problem. For test purposes I installed my SwinSIDx16 board, with which I have the same problem. Dam Dam dam! Therefore I can clearly exclude the LS138N from the SwinSIDx8.
So I re-soldered the soldering points for the address pick-up on the Color-RAM, but this did not help.I am therefore assuming that the combination of pin header and Dupont connector causes the problem, as these are slightly wobbly - but "actually" with contact.
I don't want to solder the cables to the SwinSID board for this 250407 board. The SwinSID will probably move to another board and solder it there.
You could also just have a tiny solder bridge somewhere. I would clean board with toothbrush and IPA and take a closer look?
EDIT: Sorry, I didn't catch you had exact problem on two boards.

Bummer, but alas is sometimes issue with Chinese chip suppliers.
I ordered 10xATMEGA88PA-PU and recieved instead ATTINY88-PU which are old 12MHz units.
Needless to say, SwinSID firmware doesn't run at all. It just crackles and dies...

The next bit of fun would be a small board that uses the QFP chips.

Yes, and I was tempted! But
- The routing between the ICs would me much more messy.
- While not absolutely required, one would still have to think about ISP for the MCUs. Might also be messy with 16 of them on the board.

Dreaming of that?

Very nice, yes. You might shape the board so it extends down instead of left to fit on more boards...

It was a quick shot to see if it would work ... never finished it. If you wanna give it a try I'd share the EasyEDA design with you.

Sure, I am always up to give it a try.

OK, I'll contact you via PM.

Ich sag's nochmals: Ich habe diese Platine nicht getestet, möglicherweise hat sie Bugs. Nur dass mit dann später keiner, ja?!

Fertig und geht.

Hast die PCBs wohl express bestellt
-
Done and go.
Don't turn on power. You 74LS138 is upside down!
-
I already noticed that right after taking the photos and turned it.
If you have a close look, in the first picture half of the resistors is missing.Hast die PCBs wohl express bestellt
Nein, nicht wirklich, aber es war eine groessere Bestellung mit noch einigen weiteren Platinen fuer den MiSTer, evtl hat JLCPCB sich fuer den guten Kunden beeilt.
