How do you know (if you do) that the CIA chips are OK? Did you test them in a different C64?

I wish that I could, I only have this other SX-64 that just blanked out on me, I'm not certain if these 6526A chips will work in it or not.
Offtopic dismissed and moved to trash!
computercollection: stick to the topic! Telling a person looking for help "go and buy an original C64" does not help in any way, so refrain from "hints" like that.
And another thing: this requires NO response, this is the repair corner, not the talking corner. Thanks.
The problem is simple and has nothing to do with the mk2 mainboard. CIA (one or both) are faulty or VIC is faulty, just what said before. Wait for your ordered CIAs, test it and come back here for result
Got an eMail from ajkatz around midnight CET: He tried the CIAs from his SX64, and after resetting all things back to default in the remote control menu, the board works fine. He still wanted to make sure that everything works, but it's likely that he'll post "success!" here soon.

I moved this thread to this subforum.
Da S.E. es ja nicht lassen kann hat er jetzt zwei Wochen Zeit sich draußen Gedanken zu machen.
