Awesome! Too bad you didn't do that 25 years ago, you'd be rich

Bin ich doch immer der Fan von Minigolf gewesen......

Game engine is gorgeous and fast! Playability is great however I have couple of questions:
- Does holding fire affect much hitting strength? I haven't noticed and strength'o'meter.
- I couldn't figure wind influence - it seemed to blow elsewhere the meter shown. Is wind direction relative to our position or absolute?
- Sand and SW club. That was my ragequitCongrats! Great entry.

I haven't entered a sand pit yet, but I can't imagine it being more frustrating than planet golf!

Thank you! Glad you like it.
Unless EA SPORTS get in touch in the next few weeks and offer me a couple million dollars for it, I'll be releasing the source code after the compo results. It's basically lots (and lots) of lookup tables and arrays. I try not to throw away any information between processing stages that might be useful later on (- which massively speeds up quad-filling, for example).
Zitat von jammerc64Does holding fire affect much hitting strength? I haven't noticed and strength'o'meter.
Yes, lots. If you just tap the fire button the ball goes a few feet but if you hold it down till the top of the swing, it'll almost go into orbit (with something like a 7-iron). The club shaft/stick turns grey while you're holding the fire button down - that's sort of the power-meter.

Relative. It's quite subtle - but it does make some difference. You do know that you've got a second button press to control the spin/precision? If you're not using that then you'll be constantly slicing your shots (and you'll never get out of the sandtraps!). I know people hate manuals but if you just read the Gameplay SWING and TERRAIN subsections - they're only quite short (https://matthewclarke.gitlab.i…rdie_manual.html#gameplay).

OK, sorry about that - it's a case of I've-play-tested-this-thing-so-much-I-can't-see-what's-difficult-anymore!
You've got a window of about 2 or 3 frames before ball-contact to get your 'precision' button-press in there. If you break into the monitor and change memory location $2127 to something like $10 you'll have an easier time (- it should be the argument to a 'cmp' instruction).I really loved your beta-demo as well, jammer - slickest curves ever! I'm going to do a blog post soon on the other entries and I'll say nice things about them all there - it's been great fun playing through them these last few days.
Adios amigo

Hi everyone!
Only about one year late but I finally got round to uploading the source code for version 1 of 'Beechings Golf'. License is BSD-2-Clause so it's all yours but please don't use any of this stuff in your mission-critical 6502-based real-time flight navigation system or similar. Trust me, you'd live to regret it.
Hope you're all doing well. Best wishes, larcky
