you can also set some vias as thermal pad, good at big groundplaces to solder them easier

yes, i will think about that
for shields the most important is that the connection is there. it will not matter if its a thermal pad or a normal via
github is updated... i found a few extra's in the VIC area that you missed

have checked the board again and found 2 mistakes
corrected a few tracks. the fat ones on the back need more work as they are to slim
side note... i have come in to contact with a danish person that is trying to replicate the keyboard. his goal is to make a board with brand new cherry switches but think he will reuse the key caps
will let you know as i hear his progress
-
keyboard replica would be great, a missing milestone in the c64 world.

I did know the MeC64 keyboard. I think this can be done way cheaper, maybe without this USB controller which we don't need for C64? Shapeway keycaps adapter aren't available to buy. Maybe jens is doing something with this idea as soon he gets the machines from the keycaps kickstarter campaign, building new machine-adapters for new kecaps which will fit straight onto the cherry-keycaps.

So leave it out, it's probably one of the cheapest parts of that keyboard anyway.
If you think you can do it way cheaper, please go for it. I'd be very interested to see where you source a rather large PCB, what key switches you choose and what your solution for the mounting frame is.
ZitatShapeway keycaps adapter aren't available to buy.
Take the Sketchup file and print them yourself or submit them as a print job elsewhere?
-
Well... you need the old keycaps, so you shpuld also have the original key mechanics and circuit. If you are on the cheap side, just get yourself a pack of Remote Control Repair compound and re-coat the plungers. Good as new for the next ten years for only twenty bucks... but of course not anywhere as sturdy and reliable as Cherry switches on an aluminium base.
The only way to cut cost on the MeC64 design would be a single sided FR2 (pertinax) board as in the original, but these have fallen horribly out of fashion lately...
-
At the moment, it's better to wait what jens and the mega65 guys will be doing in the future.

i have passed on the links, no need to reinvent the wheel
at least he can use the part that holds the switches themselfes
-
have done the last "under microscope" edit of the tracks on the bottom side
planning to order 2 "naked proto" version at end of month.
now i have a few components i have to find...
the line filter coil is the most troublesome... i need help to find it and if i have calculated the value correct
Had to unwind the coil and messure it. the wire is 32-33 cm long and 0.6mm thick. the core is 6,3mm high, internal diameter is 8 and external is 12,3mm. Coil32 calculates the value to be 0,21 uH
and there are 2 coils on the same core
so where do i find one? or is the only real alternative to wind them myself if i want them new and unused?
-
another danish man messured it for me and i figured that its more easy to wind the coil by hand.
The board is prepared for order at Eurocircuits. Their autoamtic system does not handle milling well and i have to tell them the 6 holes that needs to be milled.
If they do not mill the proto boards i can live without it, the only things i will miss are the rf modulator and the steel bracket that goes over the expansion port
So with some luck i will have a board in my hands after new year
-
Good luck with the process
-
For the rf Modulator only, is started here a own Project. Take a look at this Links:
modulatorersatz-mit-integriertem-streifenfix-aec;
modulatorersatz-revision-3-vorschläge-brainstorming;
modulatorersatz-rev-3-erfahrungsaustausch
Maybe there is no bad idea, to bring this circuit also right on the still free modulators place of the board.Wish you also a successful launching for your great work.

i hope your new year, is really "happy",..
Unfortunately, it is not possible in the forum with you via private mail, ask for a board from you ..
I am interested, .. great job
