this time in english to let participate all the other c64-fans which their nativ-language
is different to german.
in the meantime i made some fine tuning to WARP9. i changed some things and added
some others. viewing the directory is now handled by using the F-KEYS F1/F3 for source
and destination drive. resetting drives is ready for use. WARP9 is now able to copy tracks
above 35. in the range of 36 to 40 it expect 17 blocks per track. i really couldn't test it yet,
because i have no disks with this count of tracks. to clear up some questions, WARP9 has
no error-handling while copying disks/tracks but
IT IS FAST AND SAVE TO USE UNDER REGULAR CIRCUMSTANCES.
maybe in the future i will add verify option.
i used the former version of WARP9 nearly about 20 years to make backups of my disks
without considerable errors.
there is now a stoptimer in the headline to see how long WARP9 needs to copy tracks/disks.
the guide bars in the REMARK-line have now options. both separators can be set to (+/-).
this means for the first separator the program-output will be UPPER.- or lowercase. i prefer
lowercase, because it looks more professional and is more readable. using a (+) character
for the second guide bar will list the basic-line after quitting the program. this makes the editing
of the program-settings a bit easier/faster. especially if you want to try some different color-settings.
in some rare situations and for unknown reasons, WARP9 hangs sometimes while in the
communication with a 1541-II drive. so i decided to implement an error-indicator for the
preinstallation-phase of any copy-operation.
this means the program starts any copy-procedure with WARP ZERO. indicated by the
program-title in the headline. the title-number will increment little by little but sometime
also very fast from zero to nine. any sub-procedure which was successfully increments
the counter until WARP 9 is reached and track/diskcopy starts. when the program hangs
and stopped to work due to a missleading operation, the number is an indicator of the last
successfully subroutine.
error-table
-----------
WARP 0 - initializing source disk failed
WARP 1 - reading the Disk-ID from source disk failed
WARP 2 - writing the Disk-ID to destination disk failed
WARP 3 - preinstallation (data-receiver) at destination-drive failed
WARP 4 - installation of subroutines at destination-drive failed
WARP 5 - preinstallation (data-receiver) at source-drive failed
WARP 6 - installation of subroutines at source-drive failed
WARP 7 - execute of the 'm-e' command at destination-drive failed
WARP 9 - anything is fine no error up to here. !trackcopy starts!
when the program hangs with a number less then 9! it's wise to restart your system using
run-stop/restore and reset your drives,too!
i'll try to fix this in future releases at least in the final version of WARP9 it should be fixed.
here again a picture of the program's mainpage and one how it looks if the list-option is set.
