gibts ein Video, wie der Filebrowser funktioniert?
Here i've made a quick introduction on, how you can mount images with the MEGA65 built-in Freeze menu.
Enjoy !

It already works. Future updates will change the available formats and you also can select the 3.5 disc drive, then it would load from real floppy drive.
Since i don't have a Ultimate64, i can't tell the difference. But i am superhappy with it.
Since the Filebrowser of the Ultimate64 is more or less an included 1541Ultimate, with many years of development, it's no wonder,
it has atm a higher functionality compared to the MEGA65. But the MEGA65 is Open-source. So changes can (and hopefully will) be done by the community as well, so everybody can create the FB in the way he likes it.
We only get a functional filebrowser at the moment ready, everything else is for the future.
This duplicate is a PI symbol in lower+upper case charset. Strange, it doesn't make any sense...
No, the duplicate is an invers checkerboard in the non-invers chars of the original C64 font (it's a duplicate to the real invers version of the normal checkerboard).
And is there a need for an 8x16 pixel system font (as known from Amiga or Atari ST)? (80 chars/line @ 640 x 400/480/512 pixels)
You can simulate 8x12 by using the text mode where character sets can have upto 8,192 different glyphs by just using pairs of glyphs.
Paul.
You can simulate ...
I was more interested in the question whether the Mega65 uses a finer font (8x16px) by default (e.g. in the BASIC editor) at higher resolutions (like Atari and MS-DOS) or whether it just stretches the 8x8 font vertically, like the C128 in 640x200px mode?
It can do both You can do 640x200 (default C65 80 column mode), or you could do 640x400 and stack 2 chars on top of each other to make 8x16 pixel characters, if you prefer.

In the BASIC editor? (the editor, not in BASIC programs)
You would need to modify the BASIC 10 editor. The existing C65 ROMs use normal 8x8 chars in all modes.

Thank you for the information.
Paul invested some time in updating the MEGA65s Audiomixer GUI.
While the old display was more for music enthusiasts, the new look is more user friendly.
But have a look yourself at Paul's Blog

You can also press T and it will pay (?) a few musical notes through the four SIDs
We already know about this minor typo. but thanks for letting us know anyway.
We're burning ALOT of midnight oil lately and we would wish for some feedback regarding the GUI itself.
What does the community think ?
But Freddy , we have a 400 pages manual to be checked for typos, does this mean you volunteer to read it and check for typos ???
This would be highly appreciated and very helpfull !

Problem with manual would be: English is not my native language, so I'm sure I would oversee many typos
About the Mixer: I realy love the new look, it's more intuitive.
But, if there's enough room in the ROMs, why not make BOTH availlable?
Maybe add one command in Mixer for switching between both interfaces?

You can see it in the screenshot. ones in the mixer you can press "A" to enter the Advanced mode. (Previous Display)
It's perfect and easy to use. It allows centered music and sound fx at the same time. If music was only left and sound fx only right, it would be confusing. I would never set that as separate SIDs. Unless a game has something programmed for it, e.g. Ping (left) Pong (right), plus some stereo music, 2 voices left, 2 right. But then I would still set a 50% overlap. Kind of sad when you can't control this by program.

That's exactly why you CAN control this kind of thing on the MEGA65. You can even sweep a SID from one side to the other while it is playing, if you want. Our default is -9dB quieter for the "other side" SIDs on each channel, so that you still get a nice stereo mix happening. It's quite easy to control all this on the MEGA65 in software: Just a few pokes to change a mixer coefficient.
