Metallic,
Thank you for Disk2Easyflash adaptation of Ghouls'n'Ghosts.
I hope you will do them more.
Here's XBANK version of this game.
Two more Disk2Easyflash games:
Street Sports Baseball (1987)
Street Sports Soccer (1988)
Metallic,
Thank you for Disk2Easyflash adaptation of Ghouls'n'Ghosts.
I hope you will do them more.
You're welcome. I'll try to do some more when I have enough free time. Actually, I would be more enthusiastic if Disk2EasyFlash makes the adaptation a little more easier. With Disk2EasyFlash, loading from the current file cannot be done one byte a time. This makes it difficult to adapt cracks that have on-the-fly depacker. On-the-fly depackers are also being widely used in the existing cracks. I wish alx had made an update to Disk2EasyFlash for this matter.
I've tried it once, but it's not as easy at it seems. D2EF is open source (at least it should be, it's been a while) - feel free to improve it.
Improving the source code of D2EF is unfortunately beyond me as I am not a C guru. Thanks for the reply.
Alex, The Joker updated Disk2Easyflash program before few years allowing me to convert d81 files.
Master also wrote last year in this thread he can improve Disk2Easyflash to have more compatibility, but he doesn't have enough time then.
Maybe three of you can join efforts to bring new version of Disk2Easyflash?
I really squeeze all the juice from present version 0.9.2fix, managing to find more than 400 disk games compatible with D2EF program in last 4 years.
To find them, I tested approximately 15 times more..
Now it's easier to test them - no need for flashing D2EF files to EF3 cartridge anymore, Kung Fu Flash cartridge doing this 50 times faster, it flashes directly from SD card, and compatibility is 100% with D2EF and EF releases
Loading and saving the Street Rod game doesn't work for me. Am I spoiling something or is it really not good?
This Game has a sequential file on disk side2 and that is incompatible with Easyflash. I'll see if I can convert that in a prg-file.
Mfg Jood

Disk2EasyFlash V0.9.3
---------------------------
- Based on the version 0.9.2 released by The Joker .
- Added "get byte from file" functionality. It works by calling $FFCF (CHRIN) or $FFE4 (GETIN) routines.
- Added a helper routine to $DF02 (trap installer). It can be called to update the Kernal vectors used by D2EF in case of a need.
- Changed error handling of LOAD process a bit. If the file couldn't be found in the D2EF directory, it signals "FILE NOT FOUND" error without redirecting the process to real disk drive.
- PC-side source codes have not changed much, only the new object code for C64 has been inserted into "binaries.c" file.
- Assembly source code that belongs to C64 has been added to the release (d2ef.asm).
- Multi open-file access is not supported.
- Reading the DOS messages over the command channel is not supported.
Some notes for the Disk2EasyFlash adaptations
----------------------------------------------------------
What I wanted to do by adding the get-byte function was to make it easier to adapt games that include on-the-fly depackers. Most of them are using $EE13 routine to get bytes from a file. Replace it with $FFCF or $FFE4. The file in the process must also has been opened in a standard way beforehand.
Hammerfist
--------------
When I wanted to adapt Hammerfist to Disk2EasyFlash back in the days, I gave up seeing that most of the cracks were using on-the-fly depackers. Now, I've selected Ikari and Talent release and the adaptation work didn't take too long thanks to the get-byte function. $DF02 routine also made it pretty easy. There wasn't a level skipper, I've added one. Press CBM key to level skip (usable at the first level only). Enjoy.
Ich suche Beach Head II als CRT für Easyflash.
Gibt es das schon?
Tatsächlich scheint hier eine gute Umsetzung von der Disk zu fehlen.. meiner Erinnerung nach gibt es nur einen Tape Crack als EF.
Remember's Beach Head II release contains an on-the-fly depacker, someone can try to make a D2EF adaptation, heheh.
Habe ich gerade eben gemacht. Beach Head II Tape-Rip.
Vielen Dank
