Please make sure you connected all pins in the right way.
1084S digital (TTL) Pinout
http://pinouts.ru/Video/C1084d_pinout.shtmlCGA video
http://pinouts.ru/all/CGA_pinout.shtmlI do not have the 1084s. I have the 1084-P model. On this one, I have a switch which change between CVBS and RGB mode. Do you have this switch, too? If yes, does it work in any way if you use it?
Further more, it could be possible that the BIOS settings for video output is set to MDA (Hercules). Then the timings are wrong for the monitor, of course.
Found this website (but it's in german) http://www.cpc-forum.de/viewtopic.php?t=852
change BIOS settings "blind" :
1. start BIOS setup
2. 4x arrow down
3. with Pg.Up/Pg. Down change video mode for system start
4. tentatively 1x right
5. with Pg.Up/Pg. Down change mode for internal graphics card
6. ENTER (save & reboot)
7. try it as long you get the right combination. There are 4 video modes (Mono/Color40/Color80/external graphics card) and 3 modes for internal graphics card (Mono/Color/off)
