Changes:
- small filter resonance tweak
- extended waveforms available in 8580 firmware
- full support for SounDemoN's 8bit sample playback
With this version Vicious SID sounds like a real 8580 if not better

Hello! Is the SwinSID X2 still supportet?
I think, it's just the best way to get SwinSID stereo sound.
For new devices I recommend using ATMega88 based SwinSID. The new AVR is faster and new SwinSIDs are easier to build and doesn't require rare TDA DAC. If you need stereo sound you can create custom board with two ATMega88 chips and addres decoder - just like on SwinSID X2 schematic. It shouldn't be too hard.
the source code for SwinSID SE linked on the downloads page does not match to the firmware release on the same page
if anyone interested, here's the matching source code:

Hi Swinkels !
I have NanoSwinSID and damn i have also the problems with my final Cartridge III(pointer jerk!), But i can push Run/Stop, it's ok.
However, I heard about swinsid is not very much adjusted with somes songs or intro or games. is that true ?(I try 10 minutes and when i see the problems with FC3, I decide to put my old 8580 again...)
Are you working on a new update firmware for fixing problems ?
I like this project, thank you so much.
Regards.
HI !
I try Nano swinsid with intro of tiger mission(for example) and the sound of some part is VERY low volume and others in high volume, strange.. and when i replace my 6581, all it's ok.
it is a shame not to be able to update the chip without special adapter...
you expect a new firmware update?
Regards...
This is known bug of SwinSID and it is very hard to fix this due to real time sound processing.
I have plans to release new firmware versions, but I can't promise anything right now.
Would be totally great if it gets further improvements and nearer to original sid...my programmer and test-equipment still exists and is working - I can test a bit again if it would help...

I've got the impression, you're not aware of the amount of effort it would take to implement this.
Be thankful for what you've got. It's always acceptable and fine to ask for new features, but criticizing a developer for a missing feature when he's investing his precious and unpaid spare time for the retro community is a complete NO GO. Shame on you!
I´ve soldered mine by myself, the adaptor and cable to the programmer - it is very ugly and looks like a child has done cause everything is so small - but it works Buy enough male and female connectors, if a pin breaks you can use the next one, they´re not very expensive...to avoid short-circuits Ive simply used a bit of ´hot-glue´ between the solder-points of the cables to my adaptor.
Hi Swinkels! Could I ask you about TDA1543A? I tried to use this DAC with my robot project. But I have had some distortion in my first firmware. Second version on ASM fully not working. I had used overclocked ATMega32 on 32 MHz and SD card as source of sounds. I think, the reason of my troubles is connected with clocking and timings. May I see you source code for TDA1543A, or could you advice me, what I should do? Here is video https://yadi.sk/i/ltkXpARkbZPbL
Seems like i coped with trouble. 1543A needs 24 bit incoming data.
Was there ever a final (aka, I give up) source release for ATMEGA88 version?
afaik CodeKiller never released the source of his updated firmware for SwinSID (not the Ultimate)
and so even mr. swinkels, the inventor of the SwinSid, didn't release his source code... very sad...
any ideas how different it is from the SwinSID SE code?
