Oldy, habe ich hier was in englisch geschrieben ?

Links in Holländisch, rechts in englisch. Ziemlich unten Introbase. Da steht dann sowas wie : These Files originate from this website (mit Link auf Intros.c64.org)

My German is as good as speaking Dutch for the most of you here, so I reply in English, hope you understand it all.
I am the developer of IntroBase64. I do not collect anything, you are right, everything is downloaded from the great intros.c64.org site. And I don't make a secret about that.
In fact, I have had extensive contact with the intros.c64.org team about IntroBase64. One of the things we discussed was how to credit the intros.c64.org team for their work in IntroBase64. Of course they deserve this, they did a HUGE job with the ripping of thousands of intros and putting them online for free.
I have credited them on several places (splash screen, help/about screen, in all docs) and the team is ok with it. They like what I did with their intros in IntroBase64. They even gave me a chance to become a member of their team.
The fact that they are not mentioned at the Dutch version of the site is something I can't do anything about. The Dutch C= User's Group was willing to put it on their website for easy distribution. I cannot change the contents of that site.
The development of IntroBase64 is MUCH MORE work than just "das frontend dazu backen". Did you EVER try to compile a GameBase collection? I don't think so. Every single intro is downloaded and zipped one by one. Every single intro must be added to the GB database, started, take screenshots, collect info about it, attach screenshots to the database record. Not to speak about writing the documentation, configuring the emulators in the Gamebase frontend, creating cover art and much more. I don't even want to think about how many time I've spent to develop IntroBase64 to what it is now, but it must be hundreds hours of hard work. If you don't appeciate it, don't use it, but stop whining about it while doing nothing yourself.
OK, I hope I was clear, enough about it, back on topic.
Recently I released a new version of IntroBase64, V1.4. Anyone who is interested in it, it can be downloaded from here.
Unfortunately I am not be able to update IntroBase64 anymore. Due to RL circumstances I do not have the time to keep it up to date.
If there is anyone who would like to take over further development, feel free to ask me. I will help anyone getting started developing IB64.Have a nice day!
Thanks -

i have done a lot of similar stuff, including adding tons of shit to several databases, and including submitting stuff to csdb, intros.c64.org, hvsc, helping with pokefinder.org, fixing stuff for masons c64heaven etc ... no not gamebase, thats true, it doesnt run on my OS of choice anyway i have my own database thingy though =PZitatIf you don't appeciate it, don't use it, but stop whining about it while doing nothing yourself.
see above =Pdid you really add all the intros manually and not write a simple script that grabs them (and the screenshots and the info) from intros.c64.org and csdb and converts it into gamebase format? wow that indeed sounds like a lot (pointless) work =D
however, i DO appreciate your work, really. i am just a sucker for giving proper credits, under all circumstances .... which *seemed* not to be the case here - but my assumption turned out wrong later, as said in this thread, which you might have not read completely (or maybe it got lost in translation). so peace

OK, no hard feelings. Looks like you're quite productive too with c64 related things.
Yes, I downloaded and added the intros all one by one. Also the screenshots are created manually and linked to the correct intros. Pretty much and monotone work...
The reasons that I didn't do any scripting or other tricks to automate the process are that 1) I don't have much programming skills, create a working script would consume more time for me than add hundreds of intros manually, and 2) I wanted to create a perfect collection and would check and approve every single intro.
I suppose you can imagine that it is a bit frustrating to hear that you have 'just' downloaded a bunch of intros and threw them in a frontend, while the thuth is that countless hours are spent to create the IB64 collection.
So everything is cleared up now. If you like it, enjoy IntroBase64! -
