Thanks, i have it now

The best packages for a great sd2iec are here...
Please remove the sd2iec firmware binary download from your page or add a download for the corresponding source code beside it.
Please note that there's a link to request the firmware sourcecode beside the link to download the binary, this since day 0, in compliance with the license that states that the derived sourcecode must be made available to anyone. I constantly monitor any incoming request to that email (for the moment noone has requested it)..
You could have simply asked for the sourcecode or asked me to put it online by email instead of posting a message here in public "DMCA complaint" style (fortunately it was told me that you placed this post or I could have missed it). That would have been much appreciated since nobody is hiding anything here.
I will send the package to manosoft this evening so he can put it directly online.

The FSF does not consider this to be compliant with the GPL, so I don't either. GPL v3 explicitly forbids doing this and the corresponding section is referenced in the current GPL FAQ, but this particular answer has been in the FAQ since before the GPL v3 existed, as can be seen in the archive.org copy from 2005.
ZitatYou could have simply asked for the sourcecode or asked me to put it online by email instead of posting a message here in public "DMCA complaint" style
Why should I? The website is hosted on manosoft.it, the link was posted by a user called manosoft, that is sufficient for me to call it out in public. I do not see any valid reason why the code hasn't been on the web site from the very day the binary has been released there.
Hehe, seriously, "please upload the sources as well" doesnt sound very 'DMCA complaint'-like to me.
Ok, I see that you like to be polemical, note that I already told you that the sourcecode will be put online this evening.. so I don't know what this discussion is for..
moreoverlooking to the links you posted I didn't find that what we did is explicitly prohibited
it just says:
No matter what you do, the source should be just as easy to access as the object code, though
We could have sent the firmware by email too
Jokes apart, as I said, in good faith, we thought that having a link to request the sourcecode was enough, if there's a regulation somewhere saying it's not enough, or simply *YOU THINK* it's not enough, we load it to the server.. no problems at all..
Regarding the public complaint, I never said you couldn't do it, or you didn't have the right to do it..
I just said that I would have done it in a different way.. especially because the persons you're dealing with are not "perfect strangers" for you (at least one) and you know very well that what has been done, has been done with no intention to hide anything to anybody.. then you're perfectly legitimate to do what you think it's better to do..
@ enTHUSi
If that was just a message you can be sure I wouldn't say this..

From the archive.org copy: "I want to make binaries available for anonymous FTP, but send sources only to people who order them.
If you want to distribute binaries by anonymous FTP, you have to distribute sources along with them. This should not be hard. If you can find a site to distribute your program, you can surely find one that has room for the sources."

A public forum post was by far the easiest way of contact for me.
Zitatand you know very well that what has been done, has been done with no intention to hide anything to anybody..
I have no idea why I should know that at all, let alone "know very well". I've seen too many assholes providing modified GPL-licensed software binaries with no source code, not limited to sd2iec to be tolerant of such behaviour.
To be frank, I completely agree with the notion put forward in the FSF's FAQ: If you are able to host the binary for direct download somewhere, there is zero reason why you couldn't find a place to host the source code for similar access too. Anything less than that is just a big "fuck you" towards the original authors.
