Hi, I'm preparing for a live event to teach assembly programming on the Mega65 (see my other thread, for now in german). However, I'm running into technical problems. I have a Blackmagic ATEM Mini Extreme ISO that I use for streaming. It has 8 HDMI inputs, where my cameras are connected. My plan is to connect the Mega65 to one of the HDMI inputs, so I can live stream the screen of the Mega65 as well.
Now here the troubles begin. The Atem Mini only accepts 720p or 1080p input. The Mega65 outputs 480p (at 60Hz) or 576p (at 50 Hz). So no luck here. I see two possibilities to solve the problem:
1. Use an upscaler to upscale the Mega65's HDMI output to 1080p.
For this, I have bought a professional Blackmagic UpDownCross HD converter, which is said to convert anything into anything. Well, except it doesn't recognize the Mega65's 480p or 576p output, since TV standard is 480i or 576i.
2. Use a VGA to HDMI adapter
I have bought a VGA to HDMI adapter from Amazon, that should be able to "output up to 1080p at 60 Hz". Turns out, it doesn't. When it gets the 480p signal from the Mega65, it reasons that VGA resolution would be enough and outputs 640x480 - which I could upscale with my Blackmagic upscaler to 1080p, so that it is accepted be the ATEM. However, 640 pixels per line is not enough for the Mega65's screen, since the Mega65 put 720 pixel per line out. So the video from the VGA to HDMI adapter looks terrible. I really need an adapter that puts out 1080p from the 480 line VGA signal of the Mega65.
Is there anyone who can help? Anyone successfully connected a Mega65 to an ATEM Mini, with good image quality? If so, how did you do it? ![]()
