Both of the cartrigdes got it's own talents KFF is not a replacement for EF3. There are some things that both can. Btw, my EF3s are making no problem with Jiffydos.

Does JiffyDos work propperly on EF3? (OT aus Kung Fu Flash Cartridge)

I have spent various hours updating my EasyFlash3 and setting up kernals and freezers, but I'm still having issues getting JiffyDos to work properly.
What exactly isn't working properly? JiffyDos works fine on my EF3.
What can the EF3 do better, if anything?
The EF3 has real Kernal support, whereas the KFF has not, at least not officially and not at the moment. KFF only supports some Kernals with an beta implementation by merlintwa, but the compatibility may not be a perfect 100%.

Thanks! I should have been more specific - I'm having problems with Jiffydos and my pi1541. I simply don't know if Jiffydos is being activated at all.
-
JiffyDos has a different startup screen than the normal C64, so you can easily see if the kernal is active. It should contain the text "JiffyDOS" at the top.
If you can type @ (and press Return) right after powering on your system without getting an error message, then JiffyDos kernal is most probably active.
@ reads the floppy status/error channel and if this returns something like 73,JIFFYDOS xxx,00,00, this means that JiffyDos is also active on you floppy drive.

Not sure about the pi1541, but for the 1541/1581 there has to be a JiffyDOS Rom
also in that floppy, afaik SD2IEC supports JiffyDOS out of the Box.

@yeah, yeah - I've got the roms installed. I don't have a SD2IEC, but I believe it's not as complicated to get it working like on the pi1541.
-
I just don't think Jiffydos is speeding up any of the disks I load
You could disable JiffyDos and use a stopwatch to confirm or refute your suspicions with hard data.
-
I've got the roms installed.
You could post your options.txt here for us to see what DOS ROM you configured for Pi1541.
-
Well, shouldn't there be F-Key Shortcuts with enabled Jiffydos?
-
Can you open another thread with your JiffyDos problem, because it don't belong to KFF. Thanks.

Vielleicht wäre einer der Mods ( controlport2 ? marty ?) so nett, die zugehörigen Beiträge in einen neuen Thread zu schieben?

Thanks for your answers everyone! I'll open a new thread on this.

Look here:
Does JiffyDos work propperly on KFF? (OT aus Kung Fu Flash Cartridge)
It has only a wrong thread header, your problem is with EF3 not KFF.

1. boot EF3
2. chosses your JiffyDOS kernal
3. after startup screen press "@"

Firstly, sorry for de-railing the Kung-Fu Flash thread

To all the posters giving tips - thank you!
As Panther stated, the best way to know if its working is to time the loading time with and without Jiffydos.
The results are clear - Jiffydos is working with the pi1541 - as long as I press 'Q' after the directory has loaded with FB64 and then load the file manually.
However, I have to say that I was expecting faster load times after hearing about it for so many years. Still, it certainly is a lot better than standard 1541 loading times for sure
One doubt remains - do games that implement in-game disk access (eg. Infocom games, etc.) benefit from Jiffydos, or is it just the initial loading of the game that gets the speed boost?
-
Don't use the filebrowser with JiffyDos. Did your Pi1541 have no OLED?
