No, we have not yet announced it via facebook or Twitter. They'll hear it probably start of next week.
We're packing up for DoReCo now.

Yes, I think it's really good result seeing the numbers (within a relative short time), especially considering the fact that MEGA65 is not exactly a cheep-china-something for max of dozens of bucks .... But honestly, I think, this is also a factor that can attract people (ie "not a cheep-china-something") but more representing a value for your money.

But you are right, at a certain point some buyers wont get a Mega65, because the actual batch doesn‘t reach 1000pcs by far.
Bad luck or ‚Pech gehabt‘ as we say in Germany.
So don‘t wait too long to order your production Mega65.
OK, this persuaded me to change my mind. I've gone ahead and ordered a production machine, just to be certain I get one.
I probably won't be able to set it up for quite some time after it's arrived, but… I'd rather have it than not.
I ordered it yesterday, and I've received my "Arrival notice" email from Trenz, but not the second "Order confirmation" one yet.I confess that I'm a little disappointed that there isn't at least a small discount for people who ordered the DevKit. In my case I bought it mostly to help the project get underway, and although I wouldn't have expected to get a lot of money off a production machine, a token discount would have been appreciated. I say this because (a) I've bought two machines at very significant expense, when I only actually needed one, and (b) a message some months ago from Paul G-S (maybe it was in an interview?) suggested that something (such as a discount, or the option to buy just a production case) might well be offered to DevKit buyers, given that they'd offered fairly substantial support at that early stage. It's just a little disappointing that that hasn't happened in the end. Oh well, never mind!

I guess you should clarify this with the MEGA Team directly, as Trenz just cannot offer different purchase models on their webseite, I‘d say. Have you tried contacting them, or are you simply assuming it wouldn‘t be possible?

Ordered mine last Thursday at 1:00 EST and got an email back just today from Trenz saying I should expect my MEGA65 to arrive in 2022 so guess I missed the first 400 units and that's good news as I'm happy to see we'll have a nice large user group soon...the more the merrier

Is there any update on the sold amount? Are there still anyone left to sell or ... ? I assume there is, as it still can be put to the basket and this text is there:
The first 400 units have been sold. Reservations/pre-orders for the next batch (1000 units, delivery 2022) can still be made. Each purchaser will receive an order confirmation after placing the order.

As far as I know you can order the Mega65.
Just ignore the zero pcs in stock.
There are hints in red text on the order page about it.

I have donated a significant amount of money for the project. How can I get sure to get one real M65 as promised ? At least I remember it was said so .

As far as I know the only advantage donators have is, that they received a email at preorder begin.
A fast reaction or let‘s say a fast preorder at that point of time would have put you likely in the first 400pcs Mega65.
If you didn‘t order fast, your advantage is gone.
If you order now, you will get your Mega65 in 2022, what ever that means.
Did you get a order confirmation?
What delivery date is mentioned there?

Just pre-ordered, hope I wasn't too late for the party.

It's in the description: "A Commodore 64C case with 2 boards. A Raspberry PI running BMC 64 and the Nexys 4 FPGA board running the Mega 65 core."
The second part simply means that anybody can buy that Nexys4 board and "DIY" a MEGA65 at their own (sort of). In fact, MEGA65 itself existed in this form only at the beginning.

Would it be possible to know the total sold amount of units?
I personally almost cannot wait one more month... time seems to go zzZZ zzZZZ ...

it seems like an eternity to me.

last rumours in Oktober were about 800pcs.
Until then there was no official statement about order count.
I thought the Mega65 is an initial part of the production team at Trenz.
So they should know order numbers and post them from time to time to the community.
Very many here including me would like to know more.
Actual production status would also be of interest for me.
Is everything in schedule?
Are there bigger problems? Can we expect first deliveries before Chrismas?
Are there (new) problems related to actual chip shortage?
Will the first 400pcs be shipped before end of January 2022?
If team members have access to Trenz, fotos would be wonderful.
Production line, first circuit boards, colored box, power supply, case with keyboard, first packed Mega65 box.
A tiny little reportage with photo series.
What do you think? Can you provide something to the community?
I would shorten the waiting period of many here.

A colleague just sent me a link to this:
First 400 MEGA65 units have been soldout
Did I miss anything? Does anyone know more about this? "Bullshit post" or real problems?
-
Can't believe that version. Would be pretty stupid to paint a much too rosy picture. I guess quite a number of people would consider buying a Mega65 to save the project if things were not going well.

It seems strange to me, too. But I haven't read anything about the MEGA65 pre-orders for a while and maybe I just missed something? Therefore my question here, if what is known about it or if it is a "nonsense post".
-
I sure can believe the low number of per-orders, as it was already evident when the other thread was still open. There was the number of about 700 given, and also quite some time later the talk was at about 800. Would be nice if the team could give some more concrete numbers/update though.
Personally I can wait a bit longer. I'm working on some project I want to finish first anyway, which takes longer then anticipated (as always ), and then port to the MEGA65. So if it comes later, it doesn't distract me from that.
I would hate to have the MEGA65 sitting there itching to use it and the project half finished in the meantime.
