Hi everyone.
I've been following the MEGA65 almost since the beginning when it was first mentioned to the public. I'm very excited about this project and can't wait to purchase one. As I received an email that pre-ordering is coming soon, my head began thinking about the MNEGA65 and I was curious about a few things that I then searched for but couldn't find an answer to. Hopefully some of you might be able to answer these questions for me.
1. Will there be internal 1541/71 emulation support on the MEGA65 in C64 mode? Similar to the Ultimate II+ which is a full, cycle accurate emulation of two 1541 disk drives. So we can load and run .d64/.g64 images?
2. Upon release how is the C64 emulation on the MEGA65? Is it close to the Chameleon or the Ultimate64 in accuracy and compatibility? I know that there may not be a lot of C65 software right away as there wasn't much back in the day before Commodore pulled the plug on the C65, so I'm hoping to be able to use the C64 mode with internal 1541 support (I hope) until developers begin releasing C65 compatible software.
Well, I guess that is all for now. I can't wait for the MEGA65 to be released and to finally get it in my hands. It will bring back a lot of memories from back in the day and create many new ones now with C65 tossed in. ![]()
