so... how you're gonna distribute all that testing? can you send me a MEGA65 and i will test a few
-
Over 20.000 games to be tested... I hope we'll be able to work on this in the afterlife
-
About 70 days of work non-stop if it's only 5 mins per game
Not impossible, though surely not for a single person who want to be alive/sane after this process
Well, if I calculated it correctly. I would assume it's can be done within few weeks with (some?) dozen(s?) of people want to do it.

After finished testing the 20.000 games, you could continue with the current 186.300 releases of the Commodore 64 Scene Database.
-
Fortunately I was never fan of computer games (let it be 8 bit micros or PC) so it's probably not my kind of task anyway
at least a good excuse, ehhh

20.000 Games? Great!!
I want see the list of all tested Games, please.
-
Coordinated and splitted to, let's say, 50 - 100 people this is a realistic task.
Aren't the devkits also there for such stuff?
-
Not that easy. Spending 5 minutes with each game is not enough - one has to make sure every cutscene, bonus stage, boss, "game over" stage, "you won" stage, etc. works correctly. That saving/loading high scores (and/or game state - but this is rare for C64) works correctly. With both C64/C65 ROMs and Open ROMs.
Than FPGA core and/or Open ROMs has to be improved for the compatibility. Sometimes the piece of software would have to be patched - to be able to use 40 MHz mode, work from the internal drive, etc. And once every single production is handled, one would have to do all the testing once again, to make sure there is no regression. With current manpower - probably enough work for several millennia -
C64 did a really good job. Although it has some flaws compared to today's technology.

That's actually my project before I am dead: at least having started every game in my C64 library from A-Z.
So far I'm stuck at B. Yesterday I've played Barbie
-
"Hi Barbie ! It's Ken. Would you like to go to the Gym....?"
Arggghhh, i remember....my younger sister always wanted to play this on my C64 and then MY machine was blocked.....
