  • Yesterday I found a very early C65 compatibility test document from Fred Bowen in the depths of the net archives. :search:

On August 15, 1989 Fred Bowen had made some tests of C64 software on this early C65 equipment:

    Equipment used:

C65 v2 rev1.1 PCB ("tres"), with internal & external reset lines shortedC65 extended keyboard

4510R0 (PSYNC inverted via PAL C65.1), analyzer disconnected4567R1B

C65.3A ROM in "C64" mode (new VIC modes untouched)6581 SIDs (outputs shorted)

1541C, 1541-II (DSI) drives1084 monitor, analog RGB mode

    Joystick

For interested user I have attached a PDF of the document.

  • So the compatibility was terrible. Without radical improvements, this machine would have been a disaster.
